Sharing a quick card with you today using the Stuck on You stamp set from Lawn Fawn. The idea for these cards started with going through my stash of pattern paper and pulling out the papers that are in the background. Continue reading “Hello Beautiful”
Today I’m sharing a Hello card using this beautiful bird and branch from the Just Looking stamp set in the Penny Black Slapstick Cling collections. I have played a little with the slapstick cling stamps and I’ll be honest – there is a bit of a learning curve for me. I’ll share what I learned. Continue reading “Just Looking”
Happy Independence Day everyone! Today I’m sharing cards made using the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit for July 2020. The name of the kit and the stamp set included is Home Sweet Home and it is packed with goodies! In addition to the stamp set, postage dies and an assortment of paper and envelopes the new Tim Holtz Speckled Egg distress ink cube and Cosmic Shimmer gilded avocado glaze were also included.
My favorite part of the kit is this very long village stamp included in the stamp set, the length is 7 1/2 inches long! It is so cute and fun to color! This will be great for slimline cards. I’ve created a few cards with this set so far, but not a slimline one yet.
Also included in the kit is the CZ Design postage stamp dies. I chose to use the medium size postage stamp die for a mat to mount partial elements of the stamps on. When the individual elements are placed back together it creates little vignettes into a complete scene.
I love how this little scene came together. To get the stamped elements just right required lots of trimming a sliver at a time. I decided to stamp the airplane and banner directly on the card panel create interest and change up the scene a bit.
Since I ended up with the extra airplane element matted, I decided to put together a second card. First I stamped and colored the scene including the Sending Hugs banner. That way I was able to move the airplane around for the strings to perfectly match up.
This was my first time to purchase a SSS monthly card kit. I’m glad I did – I’ll keep the subscription for a few more months. It is a good value for the contents of the kit and you can cancel at any time which is great.
Thanks for stopping by today. Stay crafty and have a great day.
I don’t know why it is, but I just love making these holiday tags. Not only does it take minimal stamping supplies but what a great way to clean out our stash of ephemera, stickers, washi tape, embellishments – you name it! There is something very satisfying about looking at a stack of finished Christmas tags all ready to use and share! Continue reading “Christmas Gift Tags – in July”
After watching some videos on how to set up the palette for Mijello Mission Gold watercolor paints I decided it might be helpful to share my own process. I usually replicate what the experts recommend, but this time I found comments about wishing they had been set up differently or not sure how to do something, so I decided to learn from their experience, dive in and come up with my own process, palette and swatch chart. Hello and welcome friends! Isn’t this little scene adorable! ….there’s a story here – first came the envelopes, then the perfect die to create this sweet silhouette scene for the focal point.
This card features an adorable children’s winter silhouette scene in a slimline style. It’ll be added to my growing holiday card stash all ready to add a message and mail in December!

Happy May Day! Did you celebrate May Day when you were growing up? We would leave little treats on the neighbor’s doorstep, then ring the doorbell and run away. It was a lot of fun, not sure if kids still do that today.
Well, in no time at all it will be Mother’s Day. Spring is definitely here and that makes it a perfect time to pull out these fresh cheerful Spring colors for a fun over-stamping style! Continue reading “Happy Mother’s Day”
